About the Scholarship Fund
The fund is intended to provide scholarships for Portuguese-American students pursuing careers in the health field.
Colleagues and friends of the late Dr. Leitão established the Fund in his honor in 2015 with the objective of holding an annual fundraising luncheon to celebrate his legacy and present scholarships to future physicians and other health professionals in New England.
About Dr. Edward Leitão
Dr. Edward O. Leitão passed away in Boston on February 4, 2015, after a courageous fight with bladder cancer. Ed was a dear friend and colleague who served Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) for several decades as a well-respected internist and medical director
Scholarship Applications
Merit-based scholarships are available to Portuguese-American applicants who live and study in New England. The requirements to submit the applications are on the four categories below and should be addressed to Dr. Edward Leitão Memorial Scholarship Fund Committee. The 2020 scholarship Application Deadline is December 9, 2019.
